The Mersin University Child Education Application and Research Center (CEMER) began operations with the Mersin University Child Education Application and Research Center Regulation, published in the Official Gazette dated July 28, 2015, and numbered 29428. In addition to this regulation, our duties, authorities, and responsibilities as a Research and Application Center are defined by legislation pertaining to higher education institutions. The Child Education Application and Research Center (CEMER) was established to develop children's talents using scientific approaches; to contribute to their development as individuals who are integrative, productive, and problem-solving; to increase their awareness of culture, art, and sports; and to foster environmental and environmental awareness. Activities carried out for this purpose are carried out each year after a draft annual work program and an estimated budget proposal are prepared and submitted to the Rectorate for approval by the Board of Directors.

Our center aims to enhance children's general knowledge and experience within the university environment, thereby contributing to the dissemination of science, art, and culture to society and to the development of generations exposed to scientific and artistic research methods at an early age. To organize educational programs, science and nature camps, exhibitions, science schools and applied learning activities in various fields in order to contribute to the development of individuals of pre-school, primary and secondary school age as well-rounded individuals of our age; to ensure that children develop interactive study habits by creating application environments in the fields of science, arts, sports and culture within the academic framework and to provide this information to the target audience who wants to acquire knowledge in any field; to increase children's interest and excitement in studying at a university by introducing them to the university environment at an early age and to guide them in setting goals; to prevent mistakes that students might make when making career choices in advance and to contribute to the elimination of resource distribution and labor market problems that may arise in this way; to popularize sustainable education in pre-school and primary education; to increase society's accessibility to scientific knowledge; to help universities fulfill their responsibilities towards society and become more integrated with society through their work with children; to ensure the creation of a university culture in children through science, arts and sports education and activities; to ensure that children, families and educators become familiar with new educational models in the university environment; Our mission is to ensure that children who, for whatever reason, have not had the opportunity to receive education in science, arts, sports, and culture receive education in the same environment as others; to prepare printed and electronic publications to support the educational process; to ensure that university opportunities are utilized within the scope of the center's activities; to organize all kinds of scientific, artistic, athletic, and cultural activities at the national and international levels; to engage in publication and dissemination activities; to write and execute national and international projects and collaborate in organizations organized within the scope of children's activities; to enable academics to conduct scientific practice and research related to educational activities; to develop new activities for the education of the target audience, to evaluate these activities, and to share these practices locally, nationally, and internationally; to develop strategies for the education of the target audience, to evaluate existing practices in this field, and to contribute to the development of current methodologies at the local, national, and international levels; to share innovations and knowledge in science, culture, and arts with children, teachers, and families by relating them to educational curricula; and to award certificates of participation to children and young people who participate in the center's programs. Our center organizes various conferences, panels, and training programs. Panels for students are organized as part of Career Days. In addition, various projects related to child education are carried out with internal and external stakeholders.
