GUIDANCE AND PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING APPLICATION AND RESEARCH CENTER

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (CRITERIA) – EVIDENCE STATEMENT

C.1 – Management of Research Processes and Research Resources
While the Guidance and Research Center does not directly conduct research processes, it conducts data generation and application activities that support the research ecosystem in line with the university's strategic plan. Individual counseling, group counseling, seminars, needs assessments, and assessments conducted at the center indirectly contribute to student needs assessment and research support processes. Statistics can be presented as supporting evidence. Statistics for 2024 and 2025 are provided below:

Data regarding individual counseling, group counseling, interviews, and orientation services provided at the Guidance and Research Center in 2024 is as follows:

A total of 559 individual counseling sessions were conducted throughout the year, with 130 students applying to the center for individual counseling. Additionally, six sessions of group counseling were conducted with six students. 550 students participated in 11 talks held throughout the year. Additionally, an information session was held for first-year university students as part of the orientation program.

Data regarding the services provided by the center between January and October 2025 is as follows:

During this period, a total of 330 individual counseling sessions were held with 65 students benefiting from individual psychological counseling. Additionally, 14 students received four sessions of group counseling. One student received four sessions of online counseling.

The orientation program for first-year university students included 13 sessions. Additionally, 14 case studies were held with the participation of various experts. As part of the talk and seminar activities, 450 participants were reached in the first ten months of the year, and a total of nine sessions were held.
Activity reports are available on the board on our website:

Strategic Plan and Center Activities

An individual counseling evaluation survey is being implemented in line with the strategic plan's objectives of "Improving the quality of psychological counseling services" and "Maintaining a student satisfaction rate above 90% with counseling services."

In addition, to determine the seminar and workshop topics students need, we used the "Your Opinion is Valuable to Us!" PDRM Student Needs Survey.

Seminars are being held regularly with the aim of "Increasing education and awareness seminars" and "Organizing at least one psychoeducation or awareness seminar every year." Introductory seminars were held, particularly at vocational schools and colleges located in districts, to "Strengthen university promotion and needs assessment" and "Conduct promotional and informational activities to facilitate student access to services." A needs assessment survey was also conducted to assess the need for seminars and workshops.

The seminars and interviews are included in the activity reports and detailed in the website news.

Furthermore, to determine the seminar and workshop topics students need, we used the "Your Opinion is Valuable to Us!" PDRM Student Needs Survey.

These forms serve as evidence that the center's service processes are transparent, traceable, and conducted in accordance with quality assurance principles.

C.2 – Research Competence, Collaborations, and Support

The center maintains strong collaborations with internal and external institutions to support research, development, and social contribution. Seminars and interviews are included in activity reports and detailed information is available in website news.

As part of intra-university collaborations, joint programs and activities are carried out with the SKS Department, the Guidance and Counseling Department, the Women's Issues Application Center, and other academic units.

External stakeholders include schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. Center experts have organized numerous training programs, psychoeducation programs, and seminars, particularly for disadvantaged students, parents, and teachers. These activities provide significant support in terms of research competence, social contribution, and scientific awareness.

In addition, center personnel actively participate as "experts" in TÜBİTAK projects, contributing to research processes through training and expert support. These contributions by our center's faculty members to TÜBİTAK projects strengthen our university's research ecosystem, ensure the sustainability of our social contribution efforts, and support the scientific awareness, psychological well-being, and learning motivation of different age groups.

C.3 – Research Performance

Our center regularly monitors all consulting and training activities conducted throughout the year, maintains statistics, and publicly shares them through annual activity reports. This data is used to monitor the quality of the service and continuously improve it.

Activity reports are available on the dashboard on our website:

For example:

• 559 individual counseling sessions were conducted with 130 students in 2024.

• 330 individual counseling sessions were held with 65 students between January and October 2025.

• Seminars and psychoeducation were organized for hundreds of students and parents during the 2024–2025 period.

Evaluation forms used in all activities (individual counseling, group counseling, seminar evaluation, needs assessment) are collected digitally; the resulting data is analyzed and used to improve services.
This data provides important evidence for monitoring research performance and operating the quality cycle.
