Institutional
Established in 1992 and admitting its first students in the 1993–1994 academic year, our department is one of the oldest departments of Mersin University. The department expanded its academic activities by launching a thesis-based master’s program in the 2003–2004 academic year and a non-thesis master’s program in the 2006–2007 academic year. In the 2008–2009 academic year, alongside the Business Administration PhD program, the department further broadened its educational scope with the introduction of the distance education–based e-Business non-thesis master’s program, thereby extending its academic offerings to all levels of higher education.
Beginning from the 2010–2011 academic year, 30% of the undergraduate courses have been offered in English. Therefore, students admitted to the undergraduate program are required to attend a compulsory English preparatory program. In the 2013–2014 academic year, the Non-Thesis Master’s Program in Business Administration for Professionals (Evening Education) also commenced.
With a total of 18 academic staff members, the department continues its educational and scholarly activities across five sub-disciplines:
-
Management and Organization
-
Accounting and Finance
-
Production Management and Marketing
-
Quantitative Methods
-
