Single Course Examinations are held within the dates specified in the Academic Calendar. Students wishing to take the Single Course Exam must fill in the form provided in the link below and submit it to the Department Secretariat by the date determined by the relevant Department Chair.
Principles of the Single Course Exam:
a) Requirements to take the Single Course Exam:
-
Meeting the attendance requirement for all courses, including those offered under Article 5/(ı) of Law No. 2547.
-
Having only one unsuccessful course in total.
-
Having completed all courses successfully but failing to meet the minimum graduation requirement of a 60.00 cumulative GPA.
-
Having fulfilled all other program requirements, including internships and similar practical components.
b) The authority to decide whether the Single Course Exam may be offered for practical courses lies with the relevant administrative board.
c) Implementation principles of the Single Course Exam:
-
Students who have successfully completed all courses but do not meet the 60.00 GPA requirement may take the exam for any previously taken course of their choice.
-
The exam must be taken at the end of the semester in which the right to the Single Course Exam is granted. Students who gain this right through summer school may also take the exam on the dates indicated in the Academic Calendar. Students who do not use their right within the specified period regain this right only after re-registering for the course in the next semester in which it is offered and fulfilling its requirements.
-
Students must submit a written application to the relevant sub-unit before the starting date of the Single Course Exam specified in the Academic Calendar. Applications are reviewed and approved by the administrative board if the student meets the eligibility criteria.
-
Students who use their exam right but fail must register for the course in the next semester in which it is offered. They may attend the midterm and final exams without attendance requirements. If they fail again, they may re-apply for the Single Course Exam.
-
The exam schedule is announced by the relevant sub-unit.
ç) Assessment:
-
A minimum score of 60.00 is required to pass the Single Course Exam.
-
The grade obtained in the exam is reflected in the cumulative GPA but is not included in the semester GPA of the term in which the course was originally taken.
