Faculty Introduction
ABOUT THE FACULTY
The Faculty of Education was established on February 16, 1999, by Decree No. 99/12444. Initially, it comprised five departments and three majors: Primary Education, Educational Sciences, Foreign Language Education, Turkish Education, and Computer and Educational Technology Education. However, these departments did not enroll students. As a result of joint efforts by the Council of Higher Education and the Ministry of National Education, the Faculty of Education programs were restructured to train teachers with the quality and quantity required by the Ministry of National Education. Within the new structure, the Faculty comprises a total of eight departments and 26 majors. Currently, there are nine undergraduate programs. As of the spring semester of the 2024 academic year, the student population reached 2,141.
The Faculty offers graduate programs in 15 programs. There are a total of 24 master's programs in 14 departments: thesis programs and non-thesis programs in 10 departments (including 1 distance education non-thesis program and 9 evening education non-thesis programs). Additionally, 10 departments offer doctoral programs.
