Workplace Training (İYE)
The workplace training process at Mersin University is a practical education model that aims to enable students to apply the theoretical knowledge they have acquired during their studies in real business environments and to improve their professional skills. The program is based on a structure consisting of 7 semesters of courses + 1 semester of elective workplace training and elective courses, and the process is carried out in accordance with the Mersin University Workplace Training Implementation Principles and Procedures. Workplace training aims to help students gain experience in the sector, acquire work discipline, and strengthen their professional adaptation before graduation.
Objective: To integrate the student’s education with the business world and ensure that they become “professionally ready before graduation.”
Workplace Training (7+1) Implementation Principles and Procedures
The Workplace Training process at Mersin University is organized in accordance with the Workplace Training Implementation Principles and Procedures, which define the framework of the 7+1 model implemented in our faculty. These principles describe in detail the scope of the program, the responsibilities of students, the qualifications of institutions and organizations where workplace training will take place, the evaluation criteria, and the duties of the commissions.
These Principles have been prepared based on Article 14 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547, Article 5 of the Social Insurance and General Health Insurance Law No. 5510, the Regulation on Applied Education in Higher Education, and the Directive on Applied Education of Mersin University.

Workplace Training Calendar
The Workplace Training (WT) process is carried out in accordance with the academic calendar determined for each academic year. All details, application requirements, and important dates are included in the 2025–2026 Workplace Training Calendar file.
Prerequisites and Quotas
The prerequisites and quotas for the 2025–2026 Spring Semester Workplace Training (WT) will be announced on 24 November 2025. The prerequisites and company quotas reported by the departments will be evaluated by the Faculty Workplace Training Commission and then published on the faculty web page.
