Announcement for the M.A. Program in Comparative Literature
Dear Graduate Students Considering the M.A. Program in Comparative Literature at Mersin University,
One of the most distinctive philological disciplines in the world, the Department of Comparative Literature at Mersin University continues its academic and scholarly activities through its M.A. Program with Thesis, offered under the Graduate School of Social Sciences. Applications are now being accepted for admission to the 2026–2027 Academic Year.
Applications to the M.A. Program in Comparative Literature will be accepted from 10 August to 23 August 2026. All applications should be submitted through the Graduate School of Social Sciences, Mersin University.
Dear Students,
The M.A. Program in Comparative Literature adopts an admission model that prioritizes applicants' literary and intellectual potential rather than memorized knowledge or rote learning.
During both the written and oral examinations, candidates are presented with an original one-paragraph text related to literature or literary studies. The evaluation focuses on the candidate's ability to comprehend, interpret, critically analyze the text, and articulate original, well-reasoned reflections and arguments.
We would especially like to emphasize the epistemological and disciplinary foundations of Comparative Literature.
Comparative Literature is an international discipline of literary studies.

Comparative Literature is an intermedial (interart) discipline, examining literature in relation to other media and artistic forms.
Comparative Literature is an intercultural field of inquiry, exploring literary phenomena across cultures.
Comparative Literature is a critical discipline centered on World Literature, investigating literary production beyond national and linguistic boundaries.
