Department of Philosophy

Department of Philosophy started accepting students in the 1994-1995 academic year. Our master's program was opened in the 1995-1996 academic year, and our doctoral program was opened in the 2008-2009 academic year.
Our undergraduate program includes courses in the basic disciplines of philosophy such as ontology, philosophy of knowledge, ethics, political philosophy, philosophy of science, philosophy of religion and aesthetics, as well as courses in the history of philosophy and logic. Our program is also supported by courses from other social science disciplines, such as sociology and psychology. Our students who meet the necessary academic success criteria can benefit from the Double Major and Minor programs opened with the recommendation of the department and faculty board and the approval of the university senate while continuing their undergraduate education in the department.
Our department has 3 main branches: 'Systematic Philosophy and Logic', 'History of Philosophy' and 'History of Science'. Our academic staff consists of 4 Professors, 2 Associate Professors, 1 Assistant Professor and 2 Doctor Research Assistants.
Our graduates can work as classroom teachers, philosophy group teachers or guidance counselors in the Ministry of National Education, provided that they receive pedagogical formation from the faculties of education; they can also work as field teachers and guidance counselors in private teaching institutions and courses; they can work in the fields of press and publishing owing to the skills they will acquire during their undergraduate education, which will consist of intensive reading and writing activities; they can continue their academic activities in the department by completing a master's or doctorate.
