Mersin University's Department of Psychology offers a contemporary education and research program aimed at examining human behavior and mental processes using scientific methods. Our department combines the theoretical foundations of psychology with applied fields, aiming to equip students with strong academic and professional skills. Our curriculum is supported by research methods, ethical principles, and applied studies, in addition to courses covering fundamental subfields such as experimental, cognitive, developmental, social, and clinical psychology. Throughout their four-year undergraduate education, students have the opportunity to develop their skills in critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and multidimensional assessment of human behavior.

Our department has an Experimental Psychology Laboratory, which facilitates research examining cognitive and behavioral processes (For detailed information, see the Experimental Psychology program). The laboratory also allows for physiological measurements to be taken as part of interdisciplinary studies. Furthermore, the mirrored supervision room supports students in developing their practical skills, particularly within the Clinical Psychology Master's Program (For detailed information, see the Experimental Psychology program).

Our academic staff consists of faculty members who are experts in various subfields of psychology. Through their research and projects, our faculty members contribute to the development of psychological science at national and international levels. Our students actively participate in these studies and gain research and laboratory experience.

The Mersin University Department of Psychology aims to cultivate a culture of scientific research and a sense of ethical responsibility, in addition to training qualified undergraduate psychologists. Our graduates have the opportunity to work in healthcare, education, industry, public institutions, and academic research.

Bringing together scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and social responsibility, our department embraces the fundamental principle of transforming contemporary knowledge production in psychology for the benefit of society.
