General Psychology is a discipline that investigates the fundamental principles of human behavior and mental processes, providing the theoretical and methodological foundation for all subfields of psychology. The field of General Psychology at Mersin University's Department of Psychology encompasses a wide range of educational and research activities, ranging from cognitive processes to learning, emotions to motivation. Students are equipped with the skills to examine psychological phenomena using scientific methods, think critically, and apply theoretical knowledge to practice. Our department actively conducts Master's and Doctoral Programs in General Psychology; students are regularly accepted and graduated from these programs.
Vision and Objective
The primary goal of these programs is to train researchers who can examine human behavior multidimensionally, take an active role in scientific production processes, and make theoretical contributions to various subfields of psychology. Our vision is to make Mersin University a center for the development of the theoretical and experimental foundations of psychology and to provide our students with a strong research and learning environment at both the academic and applied levels.
