During the four-year undergraduate program, students are offered both compulsory courses that cover fundamental knowledge and elective courses. A significant emphasis is placed on practical courses to develop laboratory skills. The department has 2 student laboratories and research laboratories for Biochemistry, Plant Physiology, Plant-Animal Systematics, Ecology, Entomology, Genetics, Animal Genetics and Physiology, Herbarium, Microbiology, Toxicology, Cancer Biology, and Conservation Biology. Our department is involved in projects and research at both national and international levels.
Our department provides opportunities for students who meet the necessary requirements to enhance their knowledge, skills, and experience through educational and internship mobility at universities abroad within the framework of the ERASMUS program.
Graduates of the Biology Department are eligible to serve in educational institutions if they obtain the pedagogical formation. Additionally, they can work in institutions under the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, as well as in the food and pharmaceutical industries, aquaculture and agricultural pest control services, treatment facilities, and quality control and R&D laboratories. Our graduates are also eligible to apply for graduate programs in the departments affiliated with the Institutes of Science and Health Sciences. Those who complete their theses in these programs can continue their careers in academia.
