MERSIN UNIVERSITY INSTITUTION OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES

     The Institute of Educational Sciences was established on July 28, 2010, in accordance with Additional Article 30 of Law No. 2809. The educational graduate programs previously offered by the Institutes of Science, Health Sciences, and Social Sciences were transferred to the Institute of Educational Sciences on November 4, 2010, in accordance with Articles 4 and 7 of the Regulation on the Organization and Operation of Graduate Education Institutes. The Institute offers thesis, formal, distance, and evening programs, with and without thesis, for master's and doctoral degrees. The Institute of Educational Sciences aims to train academically qualified researchers and experts by improving the quality of graduate education in all its departments. In this regard, it aims to contribute to national development through its education, training, and research activities and to become an institute of national and international reputation at the graduate level. Our institute offers 11 doctoral programs, 18 thesis-based master's degrees, 20 non-thesis master's degrees, 10 (evening education) non-thesis master's degrees, 1 (evening education) thesis-based master's degree, and 1 distance learning (passive) non-thesis master's degree program within 10 departments. The Institute of Educational Sciences is located on the ground floor of Block B of the Faculty of Education building on the Çiftlikköy Campus of Mersin University.

Mission

The Mersin University Institute of Educational Sciences has adopted the mission of implementing graduate programs that will pioneer the development of individuals who are open to change and development within the framework of the 21st-century educational approach, capable of problem-solving, possess creative and analytical thinking skills, are committed to their state, nation, and values, and can utilize current data in educational sciences at national and international levels. Furthermore, with its commitment to quality education and under the guidance of innovation-focused academic staff capable of utilizing their skills at the highest level, it aims to be an institute capable of meeting the needs of higher education institutions, the education system, and society.

Vision

Mersin University's Institute of Educational Sciences has a vision of training contemporary, thoughtful educators who embrace the founding philosophy of the Republic of Turkey; who evaluate the knowledge, experience, and experience of the Turkish Nation in the context of the past and present; who shape the educational understanding of the future and fulfill their responsibilities in this regard; and who, in line with the words of Gazi Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK, "The truest guide in life is science and knowledge. To seek a path other than science and knowledge is heedlessness, misguidance, and ignorance," by internalizing national and universal values ​​in the light of reason, logic, and knowledge, and who can contribute to the development of society.
