Conservation of
Cultural Heritage Graduate Program at Mersin University was established and
started education in 2015 under the Graduate School of Natural and Applied
Sciences. Conservation of Cultural Heritage Graduate Program offers individuals
from various professional backgrounds specialization in Conservation of Cultural
Heritage through interdisciplinary studies.
Today, understanding of
contemporary conservation has considerably extended the definition of cultural
property, and thus the conservation necessity and appraisal of tangible and
intangible values as cultural heritage have been emphasized. Basing on the
spatial characteristics of this substantial cultural heritage, Conservation of
Cultural Heritage Graduate Program at Mersin University involves study areas
such as conservation of monumental buildings, residential buildings, industrial
buildings, urban and rural areas, urban landscapes and archaeological sites.
The graduate program aims to deal with the social, cultural, economical,
technological and political aspects of the conservation as well.
