Areas of Activity of the Center

  • To ensure that scientific research, studies and applications are carried out for the development of musicology and art in all its types and branches at the national and international levels, to plan, organize, direct, participate in and support scientific research, application and education activities,
  • To have students work with internationally qualified local and foreign artists invited by the working groups established within the center to carry out chamber orchestra and similar activities, to perform and record the works of Turkish composers in particular,
  • To cooperate with similar organizations at home and abroad in order to carry out the activities aimed at the purpose of the center, to take the necessary initiatives for joint scientific-artistic projects and studies,
  • To organize conferences, seminars, symposiums, congresses, recitals, concerts, competitions, courses, exhibitions and similar activities at the national and international levels,
  • To organize scientific/artistic studies open to the participation of large audiences, to participate in organized studies, to produce or support the production of visual/auditory, periodical/non-periodical publications, for the purpose of learning, developing and disseminating all information related to musicology and art,
  • To create a music archive containing a library, sheet music collection, printed/manuscript music documents, photographs, posters, brochures, gramophone records, LPs, CDs, cassettes, tapes, DVDs, LCDs, video tapes, films, sound recording and projection devices, and similar written/audio/visual documents; to collect all kinds of objects, personal belongings, and similar museum materials related to music and musicians, as well as instrument collections; and to make these collections available to researchers and educators;
  • To provide consultancy and expert opinions in studies related to music fields;
  • To award prizes to successful researchers, practitioners, and students in order to support studies and education in the field of music, and to encourage the awarding of prizes.
