2025–2029 STRATEGIC PLAN
1. INTRODUCTION
The Mersin University Occupational Health and Safety Practice and Research Center (MİSAM) was established with the regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 07 November 2016 and numbered 29881. The Center aims to conduct education, research, and implementation activities at national and international levels in collaboration with relevant academic units of the University in the field of occupational health and safety, contribute to scientific development through cooperation with stakeholders, and increase societal awareness.
This strategic plan has been prepared to guide the activities of MİSAM in a sustainable, measurable, and institutionally aligned manner. The plan covers the period of 2025–2029 and aims to contribute to institutional goals as well as national/regional development priorities.
2. CENTER OVERVIEW
MİSAM is a research and practice center operating under the Rectorate within Mersin University. The Center operates on the ground floor of the Prof. Dr. Uğur Oral Cultural Center, within the Office of Institutional Development and Accreditation Coordination.
The administrative structure consists of a director, a deputy director, and a board made up of four academic staff members. Additionally, the advisory board comprises representatives from the public and private sectors as well as academics.
The Center offers a wide range of services, including scientific research on occupational health and safety, educational activities, public awareness events, and collaborations with public and private sector organizations.
3. VISION
To become a nationally recognized reference center in the field of occupational health and safety; to guide education, research, and consultancy activities in this field through digitalization, sustainability, and an interdisciplinary approach.
4. MISSION
To conduct scientific research, develop application areas, support educational activities, enhance sectoral cooperation, and raise public awareness in the field of occupational health and safety, while prioritizing academic, ethical, and societal contribution principles as a research and practice center.

7. STRATEGIC GOALS
Objective 1: To expand educational and awareness activities for stakeholders in the field of Occupational Health and Safety.

Goal 1.2: Conduct an annual drill in accordance with the emergency plan in cooperation with relevant units.
Objective 2: To enhance publication activities and recognition.

Objective 3: To strengthen digitalization and institutional capacity.

12. MONITORING AND EVALUATION
Implementation of the strategic plan will be monitored through annual performance indicators, and progress will be evaluated by the Center Directorate. The plan will be updated when deemed necessary through interim reviews. Evaluation results will be reported annually to the Rectorate of Mersin University.
