Co-curricular Activities Unit Duties

General Purpose

The Extracurricular Activities Unit organizes activities that enhance communication skills, increase social participation, and support learning, moving students' foreign language learning beyond classroom time. The unit aims to increase students' motivation for foreign languages, especially English, provide practice opportunities, and foster learning communities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Planning and Coordination

Creating a calendar of extracurricular activities for the academic year (Speaking Activities, Movie Days, Reading Circles, Language Games, Cultural Talks, etc.).
Coordinating with faculty, administrative staff, and student volunteers to implement the activities.
Planning the physical space and digital environments where the activities will be held.
Coordinating the content of activities in collaboration with the School's program development, assessment, evaluation, and professional development units.

Activity Design and Implementation

Design a variety of interactive extracurricular activities that holistically support students' language skills.
Develop the content and flow of sub-activities such as Speaking Club, Vocabulary Workshops, Listening Corners, and Writing Circles.
Develop activity materials on current, cultural, and academic themes tailored to student levels.
Organize the implementation of activities and conduct moderation and guidance processes.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Continuous Improvement

Regularly collect and analyze participant data related to activities.
Improve the quality of activities by evaluating student and faculty feedback.
Develop short evaluation tools (mini-rubrics, surveys, self-assessments, etc.) to measure the contribution of extracurricular activities to students' language development.
Provide improvement suggestions to increase the effectiveness of activities.

Communication and Participant Management

Prepare event announcements and distribute them to students via the website, social media, and posters.
Organize joint events with student clubs and other academic units. Ensuring student and staff have access to suggestion mechanisms for new activity ideas.

Reporting and Archiving

Preparing a comprehensive activity report on activities at the end of each semester and submitting it to the College Administration.
Archiving event materials, attendance lists, photo and video recordings, and feedback digitally.
Ensuring that the website dedicated to extracurricular activities is up-to-date, transparent, and accessible.

Unit Structure

Unit Coordinator: Responsible for planning, executing, and reporting extracurricular activities; manages all unit processes.
Unit Members: Contribute to the development and implementation of activity content, material preparation, and evaluation processes.
Student Volunteer Team (optional): Provides support during activities and assists with moderation, organization, and participant guidance.İçerik Hazırlanıyor
