Executive Statement

Dear students, graduates, colleagues and valued stakeholders,

Mersin University Silifke Vocational School pursues its educational mission in line with Atatürk’s principles and reforms, guided by a contemporary, innovative and community-centred vision. Having embarked on its journey in the 1994-1995 academic year, our School proudly celebrates its thirty-first anniversary in 2025. Operating from our Kayraktepe campus since 2007, we have implemented extensive administrative adjustments and maintenance-renovation projects to expand our institutional capacity, enhance the quality of teaching and learning, and strengthen our physical infrastructure. The details of these efforts are presented transparently in our 2025 Administrative Activity Report. Prepared in compliance with Internal Control Standards on Control Activities, the report both enriches our institutional memory and serves as a practical guide for future administrators.

Our goal is to be an institution that blends high-quality vocational education, hands-on learning opportunities, a research-innovation culture and social responsibility. We strive to educate students who do not merely access knowledge but can interpret and transform it, who adhere to ethical values and who act responsibly. Through strong ties with local businesses and public institutions, we support our graduates’ career journeys and develop projects that contribute to regional development. Our international collaborations expose students and academics to diverse cultures and perspectives. In line with our sustainable campus vision, we continue to implement environmentally friendly solutions in energy, water and waste management. Creating an accessible and inclusive learning environment is also among our top priorities.

Throughout all our endeavours, we uphold the principles of transparency, participation and continuous improvement. We invite every member of the Silifke Vocational School family to strengthen our culture of knowledge-based production and sharing, and to add value to our region, our country and humanity.

Respectfully,

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet SAYGIN
Director, Silifke Vocational School
