The Mersin University Youth, Science, Art, Application, and Research Center (Youth Academy for short) was established by Mersin University as part of the 2019 implementation of the Çukurova Development Agency's Attraction Centers Support Program (CMDP) through the Mersin Children and Youth Science Academy project, approved by the Republic of Turkey's Ministry of Industry and Technology. Our Rectorate allocated 3,400 square meters of physical space on our university's main campus for use within the center. The allocated building houses 14 workshops/laboratories for children and adolescents, as well as two conference halls, each with a capacity of 160 people, one of which can be used as a theater and the other as a cinema.

To ensure the sustainability and legality of the project, an application was submitted to the Council of Higher Education at the request of our project coordinator and with the approval of our Rectorate for the establishment of a "Youth, Science, Art, Application, and Research Center." The Youth, Science, Art, Application, and Research Center, approved by the Council of Higher Education's letter dated April 17, 2020, began operations on May 20, 2020. Dr. Gülsüm GÖK, a faculty member at Mersin University's Faculty of Education, serves as the Director of the Mersin University Youth, Science, Art, Application, and Research Center.

The Mersin University Youth, Science, Art, Application, and Research Center includes workshops such as a Children's Library, Effective Presentation and Stories Workshop, Robotics Coding Workshop, Maker Lab, Scratch Coding Lab, Mobile App, Web Design, and Mobile App Development Lab, Virtual and Augmented Reality Lab, Game and Drama Workshop, Ballet and Dance Workshop, Music Workshop, Visual Arts Workshop, Math Workshop, STEM Lab, Experiment Lab, and Language Lab.

These workshops offer science, art, and technology-based activities for children and young people aged 5-18.
