Orientation Week Events Kick Off at Cumhuriyet Square

The events organized as part of Mersin University Orientation Week commenced with a program held at Cumhuriyet Square on September 21, 2026.

Organized to support new students' transition to university life and the city, the event featured promotional booths set up by various organizations—including the Mersin Provincial Security Directorate, AFAD, and the Turkish Red Crescent—alongside student societies from Mersin University.

Representing the Faculty of Communication, Mersin University Radio also took its place at Cumhuriyet Square. The booth, which provided visitors with information regarding the station's activities and operations, drew great interest from both staff and students.

Mersin University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet İsmail Yağcı visited the Mersin University Radio booth, where he received information about their ongoing projects and chatted with the radio team.

The Orientation Week events at Cumhuriyet Square will continue through Wednesday, September 23, 2026, with the participation of various organizations and student societies.

As the Mersin University Faculty of Communication, we are pleased to participate in the Orientation Week events, which offer our incoming students valuable opportunities to learn about university life, explore campus resources, and connect with different departments.

In this context, all first-year students, advisor faculty members, and participating academic staff from the Mersin University Faculty of Communication will attend the Orientation Week activities at Cumhuriyet Square on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 09:30 AM. The program will include visits to the event booths and a photoshoot to document the occasion.
