Technical Visit to Hayat Kimya by Our Chemical Engineering Society

Students from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Mersin University’s Faculty of Engineering visited the Mersin production facilities of Hayat Kimya—a leading organization in the sector—as part of a technical excursion organized by the Chemical Engineering Society.

During the visit, our students had the opportunity to learn about the facility’s production processes and technological infrastructure. They observed various stages of production firsthand, including the pulp preparation unit, quality control laboratories, and converting processes.

Furthermore, the students gained insights into the facility’s "zero-waste" approach, digital automation systems, quality control practices, and sustainable production processes. This allowed them to see how the theoretical knowledge acquired in their coursework is applied on an industrial scale.

Serving as a significant experience for strengthening university-industry collaboration and supporting the professional development of our students, this technical visit helped increase their awareness of the various industrial applications of chemical engineering.
