M-ERA.NET 2026 Call for Proposals is Now Open

The M-ERA.NET 2026 Joint Call for Proposals, launched under the M-ERA.NET Project aimed at strengthening the European advanced materials ecosystem and supporting international research and innovation projects in the fields of materials science and battery technologies, is now open for applications.

M-ERA.NET is an international cooperation platform established to strengthen the European advanced materials ecosystem and increase coordination and harmonization among national and regional funding programs for research and innovation activities in the fields of materials and battery technologies. Within this framework, international research and innovation projects focusing on energy, sustainability, environmental applications, or electronic applications, developing advanced materials, innovative functional materials, and innovative surfaces and coatings will be supported.

Through the supported projects, the development of sustainable and circular advanced materials, the dissemination of material technologies supporting the clean energy transition, the advancement of battery technologies and material-based energy storage solutions, and the digitalization and improvement of environmental performance in production processes will be encouraged. Furthermore, the project aims to increase innovation capacity in material value chains, develop sustainable production and usage scenarios, and create high-impact solutions transferable to industrial applications, thereby supporting the industrial leadership and strategic autonomy of the European Union.

The topics covered in the call are:

Materials for energy storage and distribution systems,

Materials for energy conversion,

Innovative surfaces, coatings and interfaces,

Innovative functional materials with defined architectures,

Materials addressing environmental challenges,

Next-generation materials for electronic applications.

Projects applying to this call will undergo an international evaluation process, and those deemed eligible for support will be financed by national or regional funding organizations in their respective countries. Companies/researchers based in Turkey will be supported within the framework of the "TÜBİTAK 1071 Support Program".

1st Stage (Preliminary Project) International Application Deadline: May 12, 2026 (12:00, CET)

1st Stage (Preliminary Project) National Application Deadline: May 15, 2026 (23:59, TSİ)

1st Stage (Preliminary Project) National Application E-signature Deadline: May 20, 2026 (23:59, TSİ)

2nd Stage International Application Deadline: November 18, 2026 (12:00, CET) (Projects that successfully complete the 1st stage application are invited to the 2nd stage.)

The deadline for national applications to be submitted via TÜBİTAK PBS by stakeholders whose 2nd stage international evaluation is successful will be announced to the relevant parties later by our institution.
