On May 20, 2026, a seminar titled "Lifelong Learning in the Construction Sector" was held in our department by Research Assistant Dr. Fatma Dülger CANOĞULLARI. The seminar addressed the importance of lifelong learning in civil engineering and the fact that professional development is a continuous process that does not end with graduation.

The seminar evaluated current developments transforming the construction sector, such as technology, professional software, current regulations, artificial intelligence, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and sustainability, and focused on the competencies engineers need to develop to adapt to changing professional conditions.

In addition, information and suggestions were shared on methods supporting continuous professional development, such as technical training and professional events, following current publications, and effectively using professional networks.

The seminar emphasized the importance of training engineers who can adapt to changing sector needs and continuously improve themselves, particularly by addressing information and approaches that will contribute to the professional development planning of students and newly graduated civil engineers.
