The 2nd National Mersin Anesthesia Symposium, which brought together scientific advancements, innovative technologies, and future healthcare practices in the field of anesthesiology, was held on Saturday, October 17, at our University’s Prof. Dr. Uğur Oral Cultural Center.

Safe with Technology in Every Breath of Life

Organized under the theme “Safe with Technology in Every Breath of Life,” the symposium addressed the technological transformation in the fields of anesthesiology, intensive care, and algology, innovations aimed at enhancing patient safety, and a vision for the future of healthcare.

Bringing together scientists, academics, and healthcare professionals, the symposium evaluated current topics such as the role of artificial intelligence in anesthesiology practice, advanced monitoring systems, technological developments in regional anesthesia, smart ventilation systems, remote intensive care applications, and wearable sensors in intensive care. Scientific sessions and professional experience-sharing sessions provided participants with the opportunity to exchange knowledge and jointly discuss future clinical practices.

A Technology- and People-Centered Approach to Healthcare

At the symposium, where a technology- and human-centered approach to healthcare converged on the same platform, it was emphasized that advancements in health technologies should be evaluated not only as technical progress but also in terms of supporting sound clinical decision-making, strengthening patient safety, and enhancing the quality of healthcare services. The importance of addressing the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence and digital health applications in conjunction with human experience and scientific responsibility was highlighted.

Held immediately following World Anesthesia Day on October 16, this scientific gathering once again highlighted the indispensable role of anesthesiology in protecting human life. The symposium served as a significant platform where scientific knowledge spanning from the past to the present converged with future technologies, and where professional solidarity, collective wisdom, and innovative thinking took center stage.

“We Will Work Toward a Future Empowered by Science”

The Symposium Organizing Committee expressed its gratitude to the scientists, speakers, session chairs, participants, and supporting institutions and organizations who contributed to the event. It expressed its hope that scientific exchange and professional collaboration would continue to grow and conveyed the message: “We will continue our efforts toward a future empowered by science, advanced by technology, and centered on human life.”

The 2nd National Mersin Anesthesiology Symposium concluded as a significant scientific gathering focused on the future of anesthesiology, characterized by an approach that combines the opportunities offered by technology with the responsibility to protect human life.
