New Year's Celebration At The 60+ Refreshment University

Mersin University's 60+ Renewal University students said "hello" to the year 2026 with an enthusiastic and meaningful event. The 2026 New Year's Dinner, held at the Campus Cafe, saw a large turnout of first and second-year Renewal University students.


Speaking at the event, the Coordinator of Aging Studies, Duygu Vefikuluçay Yılmaz, emphasized that the Renewal University is not only an educational program but also offers an active, healthy, and social model of aging. Yılmaz stated that the participation of individuals aged 60+ in the lifelong learning process strengthens social solidarity and that these strong bonds established under the university's umbrella gain more meaning every day.


During the program, which included food, music, and pleasant conversations, students shared their New Year's wishes, highlighting the feelings of togetherness and solidarity. The joyful event became an unforgettable New Year's gathering for the Renewal University students.


The program concluded with a group photo session and well wishes, as the Mersin University 60+ Refreshment University family stepped into the new year with messages of hope, health, and happiness.
