The Mersin University Technology Transfer Office (TTO) team visited Berdan Cıvata, one of the leading companies in Tarsus Organized Industrial Zone, on April 16, 2026. During the meeting, projects to be implemented within the scope of university-industry cooperation and, in particular, strategies for participating in international consortia were evaluated.

Mersin TTO Coordinator Abdi Kurt, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences lecturer Prof. Dr. Murat Gizir, Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Officer Ramazan Duman, and Lecturer Ayla Yunusoğlu met with Berdan Cıvata General Manager Zeynep Şemsi Aysalar, Quality Control Manager Ramazan Özüş, and Technical Operations Director Dergah Uysal.

Mersin TTO Coordinator Abdi Kurt stated that Mersin TTO feels confident about international consortia, adding, “Berdan Cıvata is an important stakeholder for us, especially in the context of project cooperation between university and industry.”

Prof. Dr. Murat Gizir stated that they are always ready for project collaborations with Berdan Civata.

Zeynep Şemsi Aysalar, General Manager of Berdan Civata, emphasized that they have an R&D Center and team within their organization and that they are working with very high goals. Şemsi Aysalar said, “Our preference for university-industry collaboration is Mersin University. Our goal is to crown our success with a European project.”
