Program Profile
The Child Development Department is a two-year associate degree program offered by our university. The Child Development Department is an academic discipline that focuses on the psychological, biological, and emotional evolution experienced by humans from birth to the end of adolescence. Considering the strong impact of genetic factors and prenatal events on developmental changes, genetics and prenatal development are often included as part of child development studies.
Students who complete their education in the Child Development program and wish to upgrade their diploma to a four-year bachelor's degree can transfer to the following programs based on their Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) results:
- Child Development (Bachelor’s Degree)
- Preschool Teaching
Employment Profiles of Graduates
Child development professionals who graduate from this program study the developmental processes of children from infancy to adolescence, identify any problems they may have, and assist in their development according to their needs. Child development professionals can continue their careers in educational institutions, hospitals, and social service institutions. In addition to these job opportunities, they can engage children in activities such as drama, painting, music, computer skills, and physical development in preschool education institutions, special education institutions, and playrooms in children's clinics. In hospitals, child development specialists can conduct developmental and educational activities with patients in pediatric wards.
For job opportunities in government institutions, graduates can be appointed based on their scores in the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS).
