Mersin University School of Social Sciences Institute of Art Department in the 2002-2003 academic year has started its educational activities with a quota of 5 students. Currently it depends on the Institute of Fine Arts.

Faculty of Fine Arts candidates Graphics Department or the Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts, Graphic Art Department to have a bachelor's degree, an oral interview conducted by an examining board is required to be successful in the file review and practice exams.

Students in the program in two semesters (60 ECTS) to successfully complete all the courses must achieve a minimum grade point average of 75 out of 100. A student at the dissertation stage, Specialization course in two semesters (60 ECTS) successfully completed, the thesis prepared in a field related to the subject, must be defended successfully before a jury.

Training plan is being implemented, can have the critical thinking skills of students and their problem-based, they can apply the knowledge production process is based on the area. Theoretical and practice-based training program that includes courses that develop the conceptual problem solving, design and visual communication is intended to develop students' ability to create solutions to the problems they might encounter in the production process. Education takes 4 days, education language is Turkish, is a full-time mode of operation.

Graduates, advertising, printing, media, web publishing industry in private and public organizations within the scope of graphic designers can work as art director or consultant. It may be academics in the relevant sections of higher education. Postgraduate study of 'proficiency in art' or 'can continue their PhD' program. They can continue the work of building their own personal art and design workshops.

1 main art professor, one associate professor, two assistant professors has faculty members, including 4. Faculty of Fine Arts of the Department of Graphics of the building 3 graphics workshop, 1 computer workshop, 1 photo of the faculty with the studios departments in shared first printmaking workshop, utilized in 1 design workshops and 3 classrooms. All classrooms and workshops kiosk computer, internet access, is located projection.
