Moleküler Mikrobiyoloji Anabilim Dalı

The Molecular Microbiology Graduate Program is an interdisciplinary program that started its educational activities in the 2018-2019 academic year. Our department consists of 9 faculty members from different disciplines (Medical Faculty Medical Microbiology, Medical Biology, Faculty of Pharmacy Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Faculty of Science Molecular Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Science Biotechnology Department). Our department is the first graduate program in this field in Turkey, and we are currently working on establishing a doctoral program. The aim of establishing this master's program is to support, plan, coordinate, and implement interdisciplinary research in molecular microbiology in response to the scientific and technological priorities of the developing and changing world. Through this program, we aim to provide a trained workforce in this field, which is a sub-discipline of microbiology, by implementing basic and advanced degree training programs, to produce scientists who will follow and apply developments in molecular microbiology, and to contribute to the medical and scientific community.
Our graduate program covers topics such as basic and clinical microbiology, molecular genetics, environmental, food, and industrial microbiology, biotechnology, pharmaceutical microbiology, immunology, virology, mycology, parasitology, zoonotic diseases, microbial informatics, and advanced techniques in molecular microbiology. Our students conduct their laboratory work in the laboratories of the Faculty of Medicine Medical Microbiology, Faculty of Pharmacy Pharmaceutical Microbiology, and MEÄ°TAM. Graduates of the Faculty of Science Biology Department, Molecular Biology and Genetics Department, Veterinary Faculty, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, and Engineering Faculty Bioengineering Department who meet the conditions specified in the Mersin University Graduate Education and Training Regulation can apply to the program.
