2022-2023 ACADEMIC YEAR FACULTY OF PHARMACY ORIENTATION PROGRAM  

On Tuesday, November 1^th, the esteemed Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Necmiye Canacankatan,  Vice Deans of our Faculty Prof. Seyhan Şahan Fırat, and Assoc. Prof. Zuhal Uçkun Şahinoğulları, along with faculty members, administrative staff, and first-year students gathered in Classroom II of our Faculty's Block B building for an orientation program. During the session, attendees viewed an introductory video about the faculty and were addressed by Prof. Necmiye Canacankatan, who underscored the significance of the pharmacy profession. She urged students to effectively utilize the 5-year education period at our Faculty to excel in the pharmacy profession post-graduation. Prof. Canacankatan advised students to pursue national and international internships and training in various pharmacy-related fields and to engage in national and international social, cultural, and artistic activities to refine their career aspirations and enhance their professional development.

As part of the Faculty Orientation Program, the meeting was attended by the Head of the Department of Biochemistry, which is within the Department of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof. Serap Yalın; the Head of the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Prof. Fadime Nazlı Dinçer Kaya; the Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Prof. Mehmet Sami Serin; the Head of the Department of Pharmacognosy, which is within the Department of Professional Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof. Gamze Kökdil; the Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Prof. Seyhan Şahan Fırat; the Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Prof. Semra Utku; the Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Toxicology, Prof. Dilek Battal; and the Head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, Prof. Necmiye Canacankatan. The meeting was also attended by Asst. Prof. Selda Doğan Çalhan, acting on behalf of the Department Chairs of Pharmaceutical Technology and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, which are within the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, as well as by faculty members from Mersin University Faculty of Pharmacy. During the meeting, the Heads of Departments provided an introduction to the educational processes specific to each Department, along with an introduction of the faculty members within their respective Departments.
