As Mersin University Silifke Vocational School, we hosted an important institutional visit and event on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.

As part of the event, Silifke Probation Director Veysi Gök and Probation Directorate officials met with students and staff in the Silifke Vocational School Conference Hall and gave a presentation titled "Probation from Past to Future in its 20th Year".

The program, which started at 11:30 AM, began with a presentation by Probation Officer Çiğdem Zeybek. Supported by a short video/film presentation, Zeybek explained the basic workings of the probation process, the follow-up processes for offenders, and social reintegration practices to the participants.

In the main part of the event, Silifke Probation Director Veysi Gök delivered the main presentation titled "Probation from Past to Future in its 20th Year." In his speech, Gök stated:

• The mission and fundamental objectives of the probation system,

• Institutional and practical developments in Turkey over the last 20 years,

• The importance of a community-based approach to punishment,

• The importance of collaboration and awareness campaigns with universities,

• and institutional goals for the future,

Gök shared information on these topics.

At the end of his speech, Gök emphasized to the students the importance of social responsibility awareness in the field of justice services for social solidarity/welfare/development.

The event, attended by the Silifke Vocational School administration, academic staff, and numerous students, concluded after a question-and-answer session.
