**Students who have taken all the required courses according to the curriculum of their registered program, met the attendance requirements, and fulfilled all other obligations of their registered program, including internships, and who have only one failed course remaining to graduate, are eligible to take the single course exam.**
The principles regarding single-course exams, as stated in the Mersin University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education, Teaching and Examination Regulations, are as follows:
(5) (Amended: RG-6/2/2024-32452) The principles regarding single-course exams are as follows:
a) Single-course exams are held at the end of the fall semester, spring semester, or, if summer term is offered at the University, at the end of the summer term.
b) A student who has taken all the required courses in the curriculum of their registered program, fulfilled the attendance requirement, and completed all other obligations of the program, including internships, and who has only one failed course remaining to graduate, may take a single-course exam for the failed course on the dates specified in the academic calendar. c) A student who has passed all their courses but does not have the required 60.00 overall grade point average for graduation may take a single-course exam for any of the courses they have previously taken on the dates specified in the academic calendar. However, students who cannot raise their overall grade point average to 60.00 with the grade they will receive from the single-course exam will not be given this right to take the exam. c) The authority to decide whether or not to grant the right to take a single-course exam for applied courses rests with the relevant unit's administrative board.
d) After a student obtains the right to take a single-course exam, they can apply in writing to the relevant subunit before the start date of the single-course exam specified in the academic calendar. The student's situation is reviewed by the subunit, and if the eligibility requirements for the exam are met, the student is granted the right to take a single-course exam by a decision of the unit's administrative board. The single-course exam schedule is determined and announced by the subunit. e) A student who receives a grade of at least 60.00 in the single-course exam is considered successful. The grades obtained in the single-course exam are reflected in the overall grade point average, but are not taken into account in the calculation of the semester grade point average of the semester in which the student took and failed the course.”
f) Students who fail a course after using their single-course exam right, or who do not take the single-course exam, must have registered for the course in the first fall or spring semester it is offered. If a student fails the course after taking the midterm and final exams (without attendance requirements) and fulfilling the course requirements, they may use their single-course exam right again.
