Silifke Myo’da Yangınla Mücadele ve Arama Kurtarma Tatbikatı Gerçekleştirildi
A significant disaster preparedness exercise was conducted at Mersin University Silifke Vocational School (MYO). The “Fire Fighting and Search and Rescue Exercise,” held on April 14, 2026, was successfully completed with the active participation of both students and staff.
Teams from the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department participated in the exercise. Expert fire personnel provided practical training to participants on correct fire response methods, evacuation procedures, and search and rescue techniques.
The exercise scenario realistically simulated stages such as responding to a fire in the school building, safely evacuating the injured, and conducting necessary checks at the assembly area. Students were informed about the correct use of fire extinguishers, while search and rescue teams demonstrated rescue, injured transport, and first aid techniques.
The exercise aimed to increase awareness of disasters and emergencies and to improve the ability to act quickly and correctly in crisis situations. Officials stated that such training and exercises will continue at regular intervals. The Silifke Vocational School administration thanked the fire department teams for their contributions, emphasizing that such organizations are of great importance for the safety and awareness of the students.
