A meaningful 23 April National Sovereignty and Children's Day event was held for the children receiving treatment in the pediatric clinics of Mersin University Hospital, in collaboration with the Department of Pediatric Health and Diseases Nursing at Mersin University Faculty of Nursing and the Mersin Branch of the Pediatric Nurses Association.
The aim of the event was to allow children undergoing treatment in the hospital to experience the joy of the holiday. Throughout the day, the children's faces lit up with smiles, and the clinic environment became a colorful and joyful place.
As part of the event, children had fun and had the opportunity to express their creativity through activities such as plaster painting, handprints, and various coloring activities. The event, which was accompanied by volunteer nursing students and members of the Mersin Branch of the Pediatric Nurses Association, aimed to boost the morale and motivation of the children by providing individual attention.
At the end of the program, the children were given various gifts, reinforcing their holiday joy. Academicians, nurses, and volunteers who participated in the event stated that the children's happiness was worth all the effort.
This meaningful event ensured that children receiving treatment in the hospital did not miss out on the joy of the holiday, while once again emphasizing the important role healthcare professionals play not only in the treatment process but also in the psychosocial development of children.
