Amacı Recognizes the marine engines at introduction level and the applications on the merchant ships.
İçeriği Internal combustion engines. Working principles of diesel and gas oil engines. Slow, medium and high speed engines. Boilers. Boiler types. Steam turbines. Steam turbine types. Parts of steam turbines. Circuits of the steam turbines. Heat changers. Vaporizers and principles of distillations.

1 Recognizes internal combustion engines and their working principles.
2 Recognizes the usage area of internal combustion engines and their classification.
3 Recognizes working principles of diesel and gas oil engines. Identify which types of ships slow, medium and high speed engines are used and their putting into use in merchant ships.
4 Recognizes timing diagrams according to the types of diesel engines and fuel system, air system, fresh water and sea water systems, greasing systems, deck engines at the introduction level.
5 Recognizes boilers and boiler types and make analysis by identifying the boiler elements.
6 Recognizes the working logic of whole boiler system elements and their duties and identify how to operate the boiler system with manual and automation system
7 Recognizes steam turbine types, steam turbine parts and steam turbine circuits at introduction level.
8 Recognizes duties and working principles of heat exchangers and evaporator on system.
